Pre-Operative Consults
If your child is required to undergo a scheduled procedure under anesthesia, the specialist or surgeon may request a pre-operative consult exam and form to be completed. The consult is done to establish that your child is medically cleared for the procedure.
- The pre-op form is provided by the specialist or surgeon prior to the visit.
- We advise that you schedule the visit within the requested time frame prior to the procedure and, most importantly, when your child is well with no fever or illness.
- At the request of the specialist performing the procedure, the pre-op visit may also entail sending your child to a lab for blood work.
