At certain times, lab work may be required to be drawn. This may be in conjunction with a sick visit or as part of routine care at a physical exam. We refer you to a laboratory that participates in your health insurance.
- For Quest Diagnostics, we send the request electronically and, if desired, we will print a hard copy to take with you. Quest has many locations throughout the state. Click here for locations and hours.
- For Yale draw stations, you will get a paper copy completed and given to you at the end of the visit. Click here for location and hours.
It takes 5 to 7 days to get the final results back for all the tests ordered. As preliminary results come in, we will notify you if any require immediate action. Please make sure your contact phone numbers are up to date. You are welcome to call our office if you have not heard from the ordering physician or nurse practitioner regarding the lab results.
For X-rays, EEGs, EKGs, and CT/MRIs, the time varies as to when the results become available. These are for studies ordered by our practice. If studies were ordered by specialists, you will need to follow up with them.
